A New Chapter for Lydia Elder

Lydia Elder joined the Delta Chamber of Commerce in 2019 to manage advocacy, government relations and policy. From advocating for changes to how “highest and best use” property taxation, to effectively disseminating information during the COVID-19 pandemic, and most recently, championing improved public transit services for industrial parks at the provincial and federal levels, Lydia has supported the Chamber’s mandate to be “The Voice of Business” for our community.

In September of last year, Lydia and her husband Bob became proud members of the Delta Chamber when they acquired Brian’s General Auto Service, a well-respected auto repair shop in Tsawwassen where Bob has been employed since its establishment in 2001.

As those of us who are, or who have been, small business owners know, there is a significant workload involved in owning and operating a business. As an organization dedicated to supporting business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs, the Delta Chamber of Commerce is happy for Lydia, Bob, their family, and the entire team at Brian’s Auto for the opportunity this creates for them!

While Lydia's departure from her role as a valued employee is a loss for the Chamber, we are confident in her continued dedication to our community, and we support her ongoing success in Delta. We are pleased that Lydia will remain connected to the Chamber as a member and as an esteemed "alumni" staff member of our organization.

Lydia's last day with the Chamber is scheduled for February 15th.
